According to a report by Korea Times, after the protest and uproar by the people, the owner of the land said, I have asked the real estate agent to terminate the contract because I was not informed about building a mosque on the land.

He had told Instagram that he wants to build more mosques in South Korea for Muslims to offer namaz. He had also announced to take donations for this. Dawood was prosecuted for allegedly attempting to rape a foreign woman. That video of the victim woman was also made viral. However, Kim tried to explain that after apologizing to the victim, the case was closed and the prosecution was suspended, but after this the protests increased and ultimately the land deal was also cancelled.
